Paul ScheuerleinPaul Scheuerlein graduated from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry at Syracuse University in 1975, and received his Juris Doctorate from Syracuse University in 1984. Upon graduation, Mr. Scheuerlein moved to Chicago and joined the law firm of Cantwell & Cantwell, a full service, general practice firm concentrating on securities, commercial litigation, and family law, where he became a partner and worked for 23 years. In addition to litigating in every branch of the state court system in Cook and the surrounding counties, including Probate Court, and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, Mr. Scheuerlein has argued before the Illinois Appellate Court, represented creditors in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, submitted briefs in the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals and the Illinois Supreme Court, and opposed certiorari in the U.S. Supreme Court. Mr. Scheuerlein is also a chair-qualified arbitrator with the Cook County Mandatory Arbitration Program, where he has served since the program was initiated.

Mr. Scheuerlein has a business transactional practice, representing small businesses in all phases of their inception, growth, and development, and advising them on a variety of matters, including, intellectual property and employment issues. Mr. Scheuerlein’s experience includes assisting clients with establishing a securities broker-dealer and a registered investment advisor in a heavily regulated environment. In addition, Mr. Scheuerlein is counsel to a major running specialty retailer in the Chicago area.

Mr. Scheuerlein is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association. He enjoys running, cycling, and cooking.
